Frequently Asked Questions

Clothing & Essentials:
Swimsuit, dry clothes, hat, cover-up, sunglasses, towel, and sunscreen (no spray types—they can stain the upholstery). Please leave your shoes or flip-flops in the shoe basket upon boarding.

Food & Drinks:
You're welcome to bring food and beverages, but do not bring anything that could stain the upholstery; red wine is not allowed. Don't forget cups, bottles, plates, napkins, and utensils.
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all passengers, the following is prohibited on board:

Prohibited items - Illegal substances, drugs, and weapons are forbidden on board. Fire hazards such as BBQ equipment, hookah, lighters, matches, wire sparklers, candles and fireworks are prohibited. Glitter, confetti, and balloons are not allowed. Tanning lotion and liquids that may stain or damage the upholstery, like red wine, are forbidden. Lastly, clothing or wigs that could seep dye into the upholstery when wet are not permitted on board.

Prohibited activities - Smoking, whether of any substance or cigarettes, and any activity that involves creating fire are strictly prohibited. In accordance with federal law, passengers under the age of 21 are not allowed to consume alcohol, and children aged 12 and under must not remove their lifejackets during the trip. Wearing shoes or flip-flops on board is not allowed (you may leave them in the boat's shoe basket).
Your Captain will recommend you different places to go, and you'll be able to choose whichever one you prefer! Enjoy!

If you would like to go to somewhere specific, we recommend you choose a boat that is nearby, and double check before booking.

For the safety of everyone on board, your captain may operate the vessel at idle speed throughout the trip. Your captain may also evaluate whether it is safe to navigate to specific areas—such as shallow waters where the boat could potentially get stuck. If your planned route involves passing under bridges, your captain may determine whether the boat can safely pass based on bridge clearance times and whether the city is opening the bridges during your scheduled trip. Please note that in some cases, bridges may not open for several hours. Should any part of your route be inaccessible or unsafe, your captain may recommend alternative destinations to ensure a safe and enjoyable experience.

Tipping is entirely your choice and should reflect the quality of service you receive. If you choose to tip, the industry standard is 10%-20% of the trip cost, to be shared among the crew. You're welcome to tip the captain and steward(ess) separately (if applicable), or give the full amount to the captain with the request to distribute it among the crew. Most captains accept gratuities in cash, Venmo, Zelle, or CashApp.
Your plans can change, and we understand that. That's why we offer a flexible trip cancellation policy for our Members:

✅ If you cancel your trip for any reason with more than 7 days' notice from your departure time, you'll get the Pass(ess) you used for that booking back, no questions asked. If you made additional payments for that booking other than your Pass(ess), you will get them back in credits via a BoatPass Coupon Code.

✅ If you cancel your trip within 7 days to 24 hours from your departure time, you can also get your Pass(ess) back (and any other additional payments you may have made via a Coupon Code), but a 30% fee of the total amount of the value of the trip will be required. The total amount of the trip is the value of the Pass(es) + any additional payments made.

Why is this Policy in place?
We understand that sometimes plans change unexpectedly. However, when a member cancels a boat trip with less than 7 days' notice, it affects both the crew and the availability of other members. The crew has already committed their time and resources, and canceling last minute can result in a loss for them. Additionally, canceling a trip on short notice affects the availability of that boat for other members who may have wanted to book that slot. To maintain fairness and ensure that our crew and other members are not negatively impacted, we have a policy in place of a 30% fee for cancellations between 7 days and 24 hours before your departure time. Unfortunately, cancellations made less than 24 hours before departure are not allowed and therefore any Passes and any paid amounts for such trips will be forfeited.

Trips for January 1st, July 4th, December 25th and December 31st have a strict no cancellation policy. See details in Membership Agreement
Please rest assured that safety will be prioritized and that you're protected through our Weather Protection Policy. If, at the time of your trip, hazardous weather prevents boats from sailing (as determined by the Coast Guard or your Captain), you have two options:

1. Reschedule your trip for a later date.
2. Wait until the hazardous weather has passed and begin your trip later (if boat is available at that time).

Florida weather is unpredictable until the very last minute. In our experience, even the worst forecast might actually become the best weather for boating. So it is important to wait within the hour of your trip for the Coast Guard and/or the Captain to make the right decision.

In tropical climates, sometimes there are sudden bursts of rain that usually don't last more than 20-30 minutes and, unless they pose a risk (as determined by the Coast Guard or your Captain), rain is not a reason for canceling boat trips.

Furthermore, there are also micro-climates, which means that, for example, sailing a couple of miles north or south will avoid temporary hazardous weather.
Pets are welcome aboard any of our designated pet-friendly boats! Many vessels in our fleet are specifically marked as "Pet-friendly" in our booking system for your convenience.

While many pets may be sensitive to the motion of the water, you're more than welcome to bring yours along if you're confident they'll be comfortable during the trip. Please note that pet-friendly boats allow one pet weighing up to 30 lbs.
Each boat has a maximum passenger limit, clearly stated in our booking system. This number includes all individuals on board, including children, infants and newborns.

Please note that by law, your captain cannot begin the trip if the number of passengers exceeds the allowed limit. Additional guests will not be permitted to board.
